Broeder Dieleman
We found ourselves a friendly friar to ceremonially open the festival in O'Ceallaigh on Thursday/January 10. broeder Dieleman sings about sin, salvation and salty sea breeze in his Zealand dialect, with banjo and guitar. Folk/americana from the opposite side of the country, in a traditional Irish Music House in Groningen...

My Friend Television
My Friend Television is ex-Boegie/Moonlizard Ricky together with Merijn. They're currently finishing the recordings for their debut EP. Every once in a while they post a new song on their bandcamp account below.
They'll play some of their great blues/country songs in the upstairs of O'ceallaigh on Thursday. The raspy, dubbed vocals and guitar melodies form a hypnotic scenery for the heartfelt stories My Friend Television is sharing with us.

The Doo Run Run
On Thursday in O'Ceallaigh the Smikkelbaard DIY/ lo-fi/indie/sloppy/loserpop sensation The Doo Run Run will perform. This great side-project of Roy Santiago caused quite the hype in August, when their No. 2 EP came out, and we're convinced they can back this up with a great show in the pub. Their latest song, The Beekeeper, was released just before Christmas.

Bismuth
Bismuth is a two piece band raised in January 2012 consisting of Arnold van de Velde & Yuri Landman. The duo plays music with a variety of Landman’s custom built string instrument, electric amplified metal percussion, effect pedals, motor instruments and DIY soldered electronics. The result is a rhythmic mixture of experimental noise rock, dance and gamelan music.

Earth Control
After releasing a series of classic CD-R's on the illustrious Lekkerkutplatenmaatschappij (and apparently a collection of recordings coming up), Bert & Marcel of EARTH CONTROL released their latest album 'Grip op het Leven' in September on Snug Life. They make garage/electro punk with sardonic Dutch lyrics and it is only a matter of time until they are widely recognized as the true voices of a generation. Therefore we invited them to play in O'ceallaigh on Thurday. Here's a song about buying a new trolley.

WOLVON
WOLVON! At the afterparty in Kult on Thursday/January 10, because last year the cops stopped their gig. Because they played 50+ gigs in 2012. And because the recordings for their forthcoming album are almost finished. And because WOLVON.

Wooden Constructions
NGONYAMA!!! On Thursday night Wooden Constructions shake the Kult afterparty! Resistance is futile. This Amsterdam band released their debut LP 'People Now People' this Summer and are the perfect recipe for a wild afterparty. As long as front man Gover wears his helmet, that is. Safety first.

Pien Feith
Pien Feith bridges the gap between an actual live band making pop music and the studio wizardy of exploratory electronics. The critically embraced debut album Dance On Time carves itself into the soul with slow beats, playful percussion, dark romantic synthesizers, subtle guitar parts and an amazing voice. Today the first track of her new album was released. Download it here:

The Fire Harvest
The Fire Harvest from De Bilt released their cassette + walkman + headphones during the last edition of Le Guess Who? They play slowcore in the great tradition of Songs: Ohia, Low of Codeine. They've done a couple of great shows and we are very happy to announce that they are coming to O'Ceallaigh on Friday.

Homemade Empire
We strongly feel that not enough people have heard Homemade Empire's 2nd album Defenestration that came out last Autumn. We recommend you still do. Why? Because Defenestration is what you need. Not literally. Defenestration is the 2nd album of our favorite singer/songwriter Bart de Kroon. The combination of his wavering vocals, quiet guitar, ambient drones and background/atmosphere in songs with expressive lyrics and brilliant occasional harmonies make this a Must-Listen. Friday in O'Ceallaigh.

April
The next band in our line-up is April, who'll release their new single very soon (on 7") and have come a long way since they opened the festival last edition. Julia, Jorn & Tarek have seen half the country through playing Popronde Nederland, but also organized their own tour with NewYX last Spring. April will play in their super-hero outfits on Friday in O'Ceallaigh.

Nouveau Vélo
Last band on Friday in O'Ceallaigh is Nouveau Vélo with their brilliant Helmond healing-pop. Gritty, dreamy, DIY-no hi-fi-in-your-face-sneakily-behind-your-back-guitar-bass-drums songs straight outta their greenhouse and into your heart, soul and dancing shoes. Let's get it on.

Believo!
We're very happy to announce the concert of the great Belgian noisepop band Believo! for this festival! They'll play in Kult, on Friday/January 11, at the afterparty as one of the last 2 bands of the festival. What better place to welcome and experience a Flemish band than Cafe Kult, with Vedett and Broningen hospitality.
